French Manicure: Lots of girls write to me saying that after a few days their french manicure lifts. As we have seen in a previous post (why nails do not last?) The causes are varies, but we are going to investigate one in particular:
Preparing the natural nail.

1 - Do not soak the nail
The most important thing, always remember that in order to get good adhesion of the gel, nail should not be wet.

The nail should not be wet for any reason, neither before (such as a manicure) or during (eg washing hands), this can lead to the lifting in a very short time and the appearance of fungus (mushrooms).

2 - Sand slightly the nail to remove the protective fat
Before start working you must dull the nail to remove the protection by the natural fat that is present.

In this step, we must pay great attention not to damage the nail (use the file 180/200) by increasing the abrasion you don’t get a better grip of the gel, but only a weakening of the foil causing it easier lifting in french manicure.

3 - Remove dust filings
After matting it, starts removing dust by filing a bristle brush or a brush.

Do this step carefully, because even the slightest residue can affect the final result.

A mistake that many beginners make in french manicure when they remove the dust of liman is to blow, because the breath contains water vapor.

4 - Use the primer
After the haze you can use the primer, which has an aggressive effect on the nail and dehydrates at depth. In fact, the primer breaks the links between the cells of the lamina and thus allows greater support leaving the gel penetrate between molecules of keratin.

In future articles we will see in particular also other causes that may lead to the lifting of french manicure.
